Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 June 2026 · Contact: deenbox.app@gmail.com
Deen Box ("Deen Box", "we", "us") is an Islamic learning app. It also offers an optional personal-finance ("Wallet") section. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using Deen Box you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
Deen Box is published by the Deen Box developer account on Google Play. The app provides Islamic education (quizzes, lessons, Qur'an reference) and an optional personal-finance tracker.
2. Information we collect
Account & identity. When you first open the app we automatically create an anonymous account (a random user ID) so your progress can be saved — this does not require your name or email. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo URL to identify your account across devices.
Learning activity. Your quiz attempts, lesson progress, mastery, streaks, XP, achievements, daily quests and collected cards. This is stored on your device and, when you are signed in, synced to your private account in our cloud so you don't lose it.
Social features (only if you use them). If you add friends or play challenges, your chosen display name, username and game stats become visible to the users you connect with.
Problem reports. If you report a problem with content, we store your report so we can review it.
Wallet / financial features (only if you use them). If you use the optional Wallet, the financial information you manually enter — transactions, accounts, budgets, savings goals, debts, sadaqah and zakat figures — is stored on your device and, when signed in, synced to your private account space in our cloud. We do not connect to your bank, we do not import statements, and only you can see your Wallet data.
We do NOT collect: your precise location, your contacts, your photos (other than a Google profile photo URL if you sign in with Google), or any payment-card or bank-login details.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the app and save/sync your progress and content.
- To operate optional social features you choose to use.
- To keep the app working, secure, and improved.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. How your information is stored and shared
We use Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) as our backend service provider to host your account and synced data. Google processes this data on our behalf; see Google's Privacy Policy. Your private data (learning progress and Wallet) is access-controlled to your account. The only data visible to other people is the social information described above, and only to users you connect with.
5. Data retention and deletion
You stay in control of your data:
- Delete in-app: the app provides an account-deletion option that removes your account and associated data from our cloud and your device.
- Email us: you may also request deletion at the contact address above.
6. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and cloud data is protected by per-account access rules so a user can only read and write their own data.
7. Children
Deen Box is intended for users 13 years of age and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Use the in-app deletion option or contact us to exercise them.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
